Install Grindr 1.8.2 on Unsupported Android Devices
Grindr, a popular location-based gay dating app has recently released an update, Grindr 1.8.2 which is supposed to fix bugs from the previous releases. Problem is, a lot of Android phones are not compatible with this update and the old version no longer works leaving some Android users like me unable to use the app.
I tried to look online for any fix or workaround to be able to install it on my Samsung Galaxy Y (GT-S5360 with Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread) but to no luck. It gave me a few ideas though and I managed to find a way to install it on my Android phone. Everything seems to be working fine except I'm not getting the usual grindr icon but just a generic one but it's really not a big deal as long as the app is working. Plus I also like that when you open photos, it opens zoomed out but you can pinch the screen to see the original size, as oppose to the previous version where you only see a small pic and there's no way to zoom in (see photos below).
